2023 Hong Kong Native Plants Monthly Calendar
In line with the flowering and fruiting patterns of the four seasons, 12 scientific drawings of Hong Kong's native plants are included in our monthly calendar. Pen and ink illustrations of detailed structures including representative branches, leaves, flowers and fruits in different orientations are shown at the back of each page. Other basic facts such as scientific names, flowering and fruiting periods can also be found as supplementary information. In addition to Hong Kong Public Holidays, we choose to include important international days of plants or nature. You can also tear along the dotted line and send the plant drawings part as postcards.

About scientific drawings
Botanical Illustration is an integration of art and science. The plants included in the calendar have been authenticated by field observations, detailed dissections, voucher specimens, as well as scientific records from the Shiu-Ying Hu Herbarium. To make sure every morphological detail is accurately marked, the scientific illustrations have been authenticated and drawn by a group of botanists and the careful eye of botanical illustrators. Owing to the much work they have done, they also make an valuable asset of verified botanical references become possible and accessible.
