This is a heartbreaking story from Wenlou, a small village in central China, where more than 30% of the villagers are infected with HIV because they tried to make a little extra money selling their blood in the early 90s. The director started filming in one family's courtyard at the beginning of the summer, 2001, in order to portray the everyday life of this ordinary family. The film has already been selected for the prestigious Sundance Festival and Europe's biggest documentary festival IDFA in the main competition for the Joris Ivens Award.
