Living by the Sea recorded the story of Jia Qingyun and his family, who moved back to his hometown in Shandong due to the difficulties of their life in the Northeastern. Although it had been the home of his ancestors, the family now had no land of their own and no residence or house. By the sea, Jia Qingyun and his wife and their three children have to muster the courage to face the challenges of building new life.

《在海邊》紀錄了祖輩闖關東的賈慶雲一家人，因東北生活困難，夫妻兩人帶著三個孩子五年前又回到老家山東省並在老家的海邊居住下來的故事。然而面對這片祖輩生活過的土地，他們卻沒有一份自己的土地，也沒有戶口，沒有房子。他們只有面對大海，重新開始頑強的生活。
