Petition 上訪

A harrowing and unimpeachable documentary about injustices in China, Artist-filmmaker Zhao Liang's film chronicles, since 1996, the lives of "petitioners" who come from all over the country to the Court of the Complainants in Beijing. Their motives are simple: to right the wrongs perpetrated by corruption and political abuses. But many wait for months, or even years, to have their cases heard, with most having no hope of a redress or even an answer.

記錄片《上訪》是趙亮自1996年開始在北京上訪村拍攝，歷經12年，一直到2008年北京奧運會止。影片由“眾生相”、“上訪母與女”和“北京南站”三部份組成。講述了北京上訪村的上訪者為基本生存而抗爭的故事，反映了中國訪民的現實生活和社會矛盾。
