Political Attitudes in a Changing Context: The Case of Hong Kong Political attitudes are changing in Hong Kong, against the context of the scheduled transfer of sovereignty and the development of limited democracy. The paper analyses the patterns of political attitudes of the Hong Kong people in terms of the state-society relationship, the proto-democratic values, and the sense of identity. It concludes that there is a trend toward political alienation which does not bode well for the political future of Hong Kong.
