This film follows the Hani Nationality’s deteriorating traditional way of life. As their terrace fields can no longer support them, Alu and many of his fellow villagers must leave home in search of a better livelihood elsewhere. They are trapped into working in a coal mine, and after many months of servitude can do nothing but flee to Kunming to try their luck. But Kunming has little to offer these uneducated and unskilled youth from the countryside. So what is left for them to do?

Ngau Tau Kok Estate is one of the oldest and largest public housing projects in Hong Kong. Most of the residents are either elderly and live alone, or working class families. Since 2001, after the government announced its plan to redevelop the area, residents have been gradually relocated to new housing estates. Following two social workers who work with the residents as they deal with the relocation, the film offers is a glimpse of the lives of old people. It is a group portrait of our parents and grandparents.

The Cooker is from Hani Nationality of Yunnan, where either a woman or a man, before marriage, could have sexual relations as many as they wish. The cooker was betrayed and lost his love in a big city; he went home and realized that nowadays girls won’t sleep with him, because he is penniless. Dejected and frustrated, the cook turned back to his lover, a married woman who was his girlfriend ten years ago and is now living an impassionate life. It is absolutely forbidden in the tradition to get close to any married women and will be beaten to death by the villagers if it is the case. But the Cook cares about nothing else now but true love， he makes up his mind to continue finding his own ‘Paradise’. The director manages well the sensitive issue to expose the tradition under the modernization background.

For those coming from villages without any education background like him, he believes it is impossible.

Yang is a drifter from Henan who plays his guitar on the streets of Guangzhou for spare change and dreams of becoming a pop star. As he approaches 30, he has lost sight of his dreams and realizes that he may never realize his aspirations. He spends his days running away from security guards and city inspectors and chasing off competitors in order to make a living. His love life is a mess, and day by day he grows more depressed and numb. His mood and life situation are unstable as he floats through existence. Finally, just as he turns 30, he is caught by city authorities and sent home.
The film won the Basalt Prize of Yun Zhi Nan motion picture forum and the award for most popular received by the audience.

The Ghost Festival takes place during the seventh lunar month. The gates of hell are opened to free the hungry ghosts who wander the world seeking food. During this month, Chinese pay tribute to their ancestors and offer food to the deceased to appease them and ward off bad luck.
In Hong Kong, besides staging ceremonies to honor the dead, many Taoist organizations also give away rice to the elderly and the poor. The rice distribution depicted in this film was one of the largest events, and attracted over 8,000 people. The event was scheduled to last from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.. In order to ensure a place in the line, most of the participants arrived before dawn.

In 2002 the Hong Kong Government proposed legislation to be enacted by July 2003 under the 23rd Article of Hong Kong’s Basic Law. The article requires Hong Kong to legislate against treason and sedition. Because of the sensitive nature of such laws and China’s infamous history of using them, lawyers, journalists, and democratic legislators protested against the article and demanded more thorough consultations. Consultations were conducted by Secretary for Security Regina Ip, who herself became a focus of protest for her high-handed and imperious manner in dealing with the matter.
Against a backdrop of rising unemployment, economic downturn, SARS and tremendous discontents with the head of government, Tung Chee Hwa, opposition to Article 23 grew rapidly. Led by a coalition of democratic groups, a protest march was called for July 1, which was the sixth anniversary of Hong Kong’s reunification with China. On the same day, pro-Beijing groups led by the Federation of Trade Unions, also organized a “patriotic’ carnival in the park.

The story provides an insight into the life of four miners in the suburbs of Beijing. Hailing from a remote village in the northeast of China, Old Cao, Little Cao, Yu and Zhang make a living by mining granite. Life is dull and hard: work from dawn to dusk. Every day they mine stones in the mountain, digging, chiseling and carrying. Their daily work seems simple but full of danger. After work, they play mahjong, chat or crack some jokes for fun.
At the end of the year before they were leaving for their hometown, Little Cao and his new bride went to the Tian’anmen Square paying a visit to Chairman Mao’s Mausoleum. The others finished work later and sent money home. The Spring Festival is coming, while it’s hard to tell whether they are happy of not. They seem to have become inuredto the hardness of life.
After the Spring Festival, they returned to work. Soon they are informed that the hill has been purchased by real estate developers and will be turned into a holiday resort. They are on the verge of getting laid-off. Finally an agreement is reached between their boss and the developers, which says they are permitted to work here until next year.
With a good wish for a better life, they pray to the God of the Mountain, for good fortune and a smooth life. While over half a year has passed, their income is even less than it was the previous year. Meanwhile, Old Yu’s wife, who just arrived here, cooking for them, is suffering from the tumor of uterus. They have to pay a lot for the operation. What should their future be?
在北京遠郊的一處石山上，有一群來自東北的農民工，常年在這?從事開採石頭的工作。老曹小曹老餘老張便是其中的一支。
冬天來了，他們將這一年最後一塊石頭從山上開採出來，再用錘子鏨子把之分成小塊滾下山去。小曹的媳婦----這座山上唯一的女性，也是他們的廚師將先行回家，二人乘坐車的空閒遊玩了天安門廣場，他們看到了自己作品??廣場上的石頭地板。
新的一年他們再次來到山上，開山鑿石。春天來了，冰雪融化，一塊巨大的石頭也被從山上開採出來，然而石頭的品質不好，化為烏有。

Spring of 2000, in Baoji county of China, a group of vagrants gathered on a trash platform near the railway station, celebrating the New Year. This group of people is mostly in the same age group. They came from everywhere of the country. During the day, they would venture into the city aimlessly. At night, they would sleep along the rails of the station. They would pick up trash and bottles around the railway for a few RMB in order to survive through the hunger in them.

Our Children is 73-minute long film divided into three episodes. The first episode is "May 11 Mother's Day ", the second episode “Promise and Appraisal” and the third episode “One World”. The film covers the time period between May and August, that is, before and after the earthquake. In the film, the main narrators were parents of the students who died, among them teachers, city workers, migrant workers, interspersed with commentaries by media workers, independent scholars, internet writers, geologists, environmentalists and legal workers. They told of their views on the collapse of the schools and the deaths of the children from different perspectives.
《我們的娃娃》片長73分鐘，分為三集：第一集“5月11日母親節”、第二集“承諾輿鑒定”、第三集“同一個世界”，其時間跨度大約在地震前後的五月至八月。在片中講故事的，主要是遇難學生的父母，他們中間有教師、城市職工、外出打工者，期間也穿插了媒體工作者、獨立學者、網路作家、地質專家、環保和法律工作者的評述。他們從不同角度表達了對校舍垮塌、兒童遇難這一事件的看法。
片中現場錄影來自在災區流傳的民間影像，拍攝者多屬公民記者。公民對影像的運用，呈現了另一種見證和記錄的方式。
謹以本片紀念在2008年5.12四川大地震中所有因校舍垮塌而遇難的孩子們，他們是四川人的娃娃，也是我們所有中國人的娃娃。

Every year during August and September thousands of agricultural workers leave Sichuan by train for a long journey lasting three days and two nights, towards China’s far-west: Xinjiang Autonomous Region, where endless cotton fields are awaiting the harvest. Probably for the first time ever, we can listen to Chinese peasants from poor interior regions speaking openly and sincerely about their lives.

This film documents how a group of teachers and students at Sun Yat-Sen (Zhongshan) University put on stage the first-ever Chinese Language version of Eva Ensler’s The Vagina Monologues in Mainland China; How they challenge prejudice and achieve self-education, growth, and empowerment in the process. The film takes one year and 10 months to finish. It includes interviews of feminist scholars, activist from Guangzhou, Beijing, Shanghai and Taipei. It is a stage where girls, students and women speak themselves out and it’s a process translation, transformation and creation. On and off the stage, these performers speak their sufferings, hopes, imagination, and joys. The documentary is a tribute to all the viewers who are engaged in promoting women’s rights and gender equality in the new millennium in China and in the world.
本片紀錄了中山大學性別教育論壇參加《陰道獨白》演出的師生自我教育，挑戰偏見，在創造性的文化實踐中賦權和成長的過程。影片拍攝過程長達一年零十個月，採訪及至廣州，北京，上海，臺北；這是女孩，女生和女人暢所欲言的舞臺，使女性主義學者和行動者歡聚的盛會。女人們在舞臺上下，銀幕內外言說婦女的痛苦，希翼，想像和歡悅。僅以本片獻給所有在新世紀推動婦女解放和性別平等的觀眾。

The Vagina Monologues is written by an American women writer, Eve Ensler, based on her interview with over 200 women about their vaginas. Among them are young and old from various countries and groups, over 100 women suffering from domestic violence. In addition, the writer even went to Bosnia and other places to interview women jailed in the rape camp during the war. Now The Vagina Monologues has become a part of the worldwide V-day event. Women act it out around the world, with their own stories added to it. The performance by the Gender Education Forum of Sun Yat-Sen (Zhongshan) University adds the voices of Chinese Women to this international chorus.
《陰道獨白》是美國女作家伊娃．恩斯勒的作品，她訪問了兩百多位婦女，聽她們對陰道的感受。這些女人中，有少女，有老人，她們來自不同的國家，族群，其中還有一百多位曾經遭受家庭強暴的婦女也接受了訪問。此外，作家還到波士尼亞等地採訪了那些在戰爭中被關進強暴集中營?的女人。《陰道獨白》現在已經成為全球性消除對婦女的暴力國際日活動的一部份。在世界各地，婦女們都在演這出戲，她們在其中也加入了自己的故事。中山大學性別教育論壇演出組的演繹將中國女性的聲音加入到這個合唱中來。

In the mountains of China’s Qinghai province, there are countless small coal mines. The miners are all rural people from nearby and their bodies are covered in coal dust from the 30 dan of coal they must dig out each day to earn 500 RMB a month. The film records how they labor and the sounds of their heavy breathing and what they see working far underground, while cherishing dreams of a better life such as we live.

Synopsis: Director Bai was the person-in-charge of local church. There were five gatherings in Yiminhe while only one of them was legal. Every day, Director Bai had to rush to different gatherings. So she wanted to build a big church which could accommodate all gatherings. After two years of effort, the project of building the church had been approved. With insufficient funds, the church was built by money raised by Christians and other churches, this was also the time when this documentary video started. Though encountered enormous obstacles, the church was completed eventually. Costing more than one million RMB, the construction of church has trapped Director Bai in great debts. The contractor refused to hand over the church to the Christians.
Depressed but still faithful, Director Bai worked hard to raise money while Christians could only use their original venues for gatherings.

A small rural township called Red White was seriously devastated by the May 12th Earthquake in China 2008. A 62 year old Taoist survived even though his temple was largely torn by the disaster. This documentary tells the story of how the Taoist practices the widely believed Chinese traditional religion and the local people's daily life during the township's post-quake reconstruction.
影片拍攝於汶川大地震的半年之後，展示了重災區什邡市紅白鎮和起周邊地區幾個普通人物和家庭的災後重建的生活。其中的主要人物之一，是當地一個道觀的主持62歲的林理峰。因為道教在其方法論上，存在直接干預現實生活的各種手段，諸如看風水，解孽生禍事等等，所以當地災民帶著災後生活和精神狀態上出現的種種問題，向林主持求助，反映了人的生存在突然受到重創之後，對信仰和神性力量的需求。
